Kicked off the midterm break with a few days in the Argentinian capital.
Before you ask, I still can’t tango…very well…
Following yesterday’s theme about awkwardly trying to interact with girls!
I really miss the older Arctic Monkeys. Their new songs are really great, but I still think their music when they were starting out felt more cheeky and honest, less about partying in LA and more about awkwardly trying to talk to girls.
Today I learned that I’m not very good at whistling this song.
Should maybe be called “Album of the Day” cause this is the whole album.
Another Wes Montgomery song…because he’s undoubtedly the best jazz guitarist of all time. That’s why.
Old school Shlohmo, also the best artist name of all time.
First heard this guy on an NPR Tiny Desk Concert (which was amazing). His genre bending style is super exciting (and also good for practicing salsa if you live in a Latin American country).
Don’t have much to say about this song, I just listened to it a lot today haha.
Still sad about his passing. Some fun facts:
a) The choir in this song is from the synagogue in Montreal that I attended while growing up.
b) My Grandpa and Leonard Cohen were arrested together in the ’50s while attending McGill, apparently for taking their dates across county lines (I know, pretty badass, don’t tell my Grandpa I told you that).
